I’m Justin Kalman, the creator of Down the Track Productions, screenwriter, and actor.

I hold a Master’s Degree with Distinction in Writing for Script and Screen from Falmouth University, and my screenwriting has received recognition at the Austin Film Festival and El Paso Community Foundation Plaza Classic Film Festival, including a Finalist placement and multiple Semifinalist and Second Round selections.

I began my professional training as an actor at The Atlantic Theater Company Acting School, and earned my undergraduate degree in Performing Arts and Film Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Today, my primary focus is screenwriting. I write both feature-length and short screenplays, as well as one-act and short plays for the stage.

I am actively and competitively pursuing opportunities to develop my work and build a career as a professional writer. I’m particularly interested in collaborative writing, dialogue, and story development—the work of being part of a writers’ room as much as the work of creating my own scripts.

Outside of writing and acting, I’m an amateur photographer with a particular affection for film photography, vintage cameras, and the character and imperfections of analog equipment.
